WITTE celebrates 125 years of success

In 1899, Ewald Witte, the great-grandfather of the current CEO, Rainer Gölz, founded the family business in Velbert, initially producing suitcase locks. This marks 125 years of company history, which was celebrated on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Forum in Velbert.

With 400 guests in attendance, the celebration was a gathering of the extended WITTE family, which included not only current employees from the Velbert and Wülfrath locations, but also former colleagues, shareholders, advisory board members, and other associates.

In a festive atmosphere, WITTE looked back on a successful company history and honored the commitment of its employees. In his speech, CEO Rainer Gölz emphasized the importance of cohesion and the company's future prospects.

As a special honor, WITTE was awarded the Schlotschmet badge by Velbert's mayor, Dirk Lukrafka. “This award highlights the outstanding importance of the traditional company WITTE for the region,” emphasized the mayor in his speech.

Another highlight was the personal video message from NRW's Prime Minister Hendrik Wüst, in which he praised, among other things: “Your company sets standards in technologies made in North Rhine-Westphalia.”

The celebration offered a diverse program for all guests. In addition to a review of the company's history, there was an international buffet and musical entertainment. The performances of a light juggler, an iPad magician, and the inspiring speech by Olympic champion Heike Henkel also thrilled the guests.

“We are overwhelmed by our anniversary celebration,” said Rainer Gölz. ”It was a wonderful evening, during which we looked back on 125 years of WITTE together and celebrated the future.”
