For WITTE Automotive Czechia, this new manufacturing facility marks the company's third branch in the Czech Republic. The company already has a presence in nearby Nejdek and another in Ostrov, close to the new site. The German-origin firm, which focuses on system solutions for car doors, hoods, and seats, currently employs over 2,000 people in the Czech Republic, making it the second-largest employer in the Karlovy Vary region. Crucially, key roles in product development and manufacturing are centralized directly in the Czech Republic.
In the first phase of the project, WITTE Automotive Czechia plans to open a new manufacturing plant that will create 250 to 350 jobs. “Expanding our activities in the Karlovy Vary region reaffirms our commitment to maintaining WITTE’s presence as a leading employer with modern facilities for both employees and customers. The new plant will provide the necessary space for our customers' planned projects and significantly improve not only our automation and digitalization capabilities but also the work environment for our employees. A major goal for WITTE is also the reorganization of space between the new plant and the original plant in Nejdek, where we are simultaneously expanding our Spare Parts Center. Expanding this center by an additional 50 jobs will allow WITTE to better employ people with work restrictions for shift operations and those in the 55+ category, which we see as a crucial social factor for the Karlovy Vary region. In our ongoing efforts, we will focus on developing our employees' expertise, deploying modern technologies, and minimizing our ecological footprint. The construction of the new plant underscores our strategic commitment to further growth and innovation,” emphasizes Michal Hornák, Managing Director of WITTE Automotive Czechia.
“This is another project that supports the economic transformation of the Karlovy Vary region. WITTE is considered a good employer in the area. In Panattoni Park Ostrov South, they will focus not only on manufacturing but also on development. We are delighted with their interest in expanding production within the locality, as it demonstrates that the Karlovy Vary region has much to offer to foreign investors,” says Klára Sobotková, Regional Development Director at Panattoni.
“We have been investing in the Karlovy Vary region for over ten years and are pleased with the progress the region has made during that time. We are glad that our industrial parks are helping significant players to maintain and expand current production and simultaneously increase the availability of qualified jobs in the area. We wish WITTE many successful projects and continued prosperity in the Karlovy Vary region for at least the next thirty years,” stated Milan Kratina, CEO of Accolade.
The new industrial park stands out for its location and excellent access to transport infrastructure. It will integrate elements of sustainable construction and modern technologies that not only reduce energy consumption but are also environmentally friendly. These include heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, heat recovery systems, careful rainwater management, and last but not least, charging stations for electric vehicles. The project aims for one of the highest ratings within the BREEAM New Construction international sustainability certification, at the Excellent level.
