HELBAKO with locations in Heiligenhaus (Germany) and Timișoara (Romania) expands the portfolio of WITTE Automotive, particularly in the areas of development, industrialization, and production of electronic systems. Through the integration, WITTE will be able to increasingly develop and manufacture electronic solutions within its own production network in the future, thereby increasing its independence from external suppliers.
Greater Electronics Expertise for Modern Vehicle Functions
Electronics are playing an increasingly important role in modern vehicle architectures – including in locking systems, comfort functions, and automated opening mechanisms.
One example is the WITTE Power FRUNK / Trunk System, which enables the fully automatic opening and closing of the front hood (FRUNK) or tailgate. The safety-relevant control units required for this will be even more closely integrated into the overall architecture of WITTE products in the future through HELBAKO’s expertise.

Strong Partnership Between Two Family-Owned Companies
WITTE Automotive and HELBAKO have already been connected by many years of collaboration as well as a similar corporate culture. With the acquisition, around 250 employees will become part of the WITTE Group. At the same time, around 70 jobs in the Velbert/Heiligenhaus region will be retained.
This shared foundation creates optimal conditions for a successful integration and strengthens the position of WITTE Automotive as a global system supplier for locking and actuation systems in the automotive industry.
